Certification Sail Canada Basic Coastal Navigation Standard

Prerequisite None. This course is a prerequisite for both our Sail Canada Intermediate Cruising Standard and International Yacht Training courses.

Course Format  Five Zoom sessions over Seven weeks (Intro/Lesson/Exam Prep/Exam/Debrief). Five online modules of filmed lessons, each with practices exercises.

• Session #1 short intro and access to online course materials (1hr)
• Session #2  first interactive live lesson (2hrs)
• (five module assignments to be submitted online for instructor feedback)
• Session #3 second interactive live lesson, exam prep (2hrs)
• Session #4 exam (3 hours)
• Session #5 exam debrief (1hr)

Course Materials Textbook, Chart 3463 (Strait of Georgia, Southern Portion),  plotting tools (parallel rule, dividers, pencil, eraser) mailed out at time of registration
Online modules can be accessed on the start date, and will be available until two weeks after the exam date.
