Basic Coastal Navigation Homestudy Courses

Certification Sail Canada Basic Coastal Navigation Standard

Prerequisite None. This course is a prerequisite for both our Sail Canada Intermediate Cruising Standard and International Yacht Training courses.

Course Format Five online modules of filmed lessons, two group interactive Zoom sessions (Part A Intro and Part B Exam prep), and practice exercises with instructor feedback.

Course Materials Textbook, Chart 3463 (Strait of Georgia, Southern Portion),  plotting tools (parallel rule, dividers, pencil, eraser) mailed out at time of registration
Online modules can be accessed two weeks before the start date, and will be available until two weeks after the exam date. 

Schedule Three Zoom sessions over Six weeks (Intro/Exam Prep/Exam). Assignments due each week.
